iChoreography 2016-2018

PARIS/WIEN/BUCHAREST

iChoreography works with the body on the first place. Re – choreographing the body it re-choreographs society.

iChoreography is a physical practice against internet addiction. The practice is being developed by the choreographers Valerie Oberleithner and Magdalena Chowaniec together with teenagers allover Europe such as Vienna, Paris and Bucharest. iChoreography imposes physical principles discovered by contemporary choreography on the human body and observes the changes. iChoreography method changes the relation between the human body and it s technical device such as iPhone, iPad etc.

iChoreography is a participative performance-installation set up around topics of well-being and comfort, addiction to technology, sick and recovering bodies, the emotions in the age of internet and the future of the planet. It derives from a research which assumes that re-gaining our senses , especially the sense of touch can shape the politics to come. The performance is set in a space on intersection of a waiting room, therapy clinic, kurort and a gallery. A space where the common vision of the future is worked on. The visitors become the patients and the caretakers in a democratic setting. The audience is invited into a theatre space to become a witness, a guest, a practitioner of iChoreography
